Rumi AI ("the app", "we", "us") is a contemplative wellness app built around the wisdom of Rumi. We care deeply about your privacy. This policy explains what data the app handles and how.

Data stored on your device and your iCloud Your reflections, journey progress, tracked virtues, streaks, and settings are stored locally on your device. If you have iCloud enabled, this data is backed up to your own iCloud account so it can be restored when you reinstall or set up a new device. We do not receive or store this content on our servers, and we cannot read your iCloud data.

AI Companion — data shared with a third-party AI provider The app includes an AI Companion chat. When you use it, the messages you type are sent to Anthropic PBC ("Anthropic"), the provider of the Claude AI model, in order to generate a reply. This is the only purpose for which these messages are used. Specifically:

• What is sent: the text of the messages you write in the Companion chat (and the ongoing conversation context).
• Who it is sent to: Anthropic, via our secure server, which only forwards the request.
• How: over an encrypted connection, only after you have agreed to the in-app consent notice shown before your first message.
• Anthropic's protections: Anthropic processes this data under its own privacy commitments, which provide protections consistent with this policy. Per Anthropic's API terms, your messages are not used to train its models.
• We do not use these messages for advertising, we do not sell them, and they are not linked to your identity.

Please avoid sharing sensitive personal information (such as health, financial, or identification details) in the chat.

Sign in with Apple (optional) If you choose to sign in with Apple, we receive a privacy-preserving identifier (and, only if you allow it, your name) to support backup and identity. We never receive your Apple password.

Subscriptions and purchases Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment information.

What we do NOT do

• We do not show third-party advertising.
• We do not sell or rent your personal data.
• We do not use third-party tracking for advertising.

Children Rumi AI is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your choices You can clear your data at any time from within the app (Settings → Restart the Journey), and you can disable iCloud backup in your device's iCloud settings.
